The Kokborok department is started its journey from the year of 2012. The department of Kokborok plays a relevant role in the preservation and development of the Kokborok language. The department of Kokborok is performing its smooth teaching-learning process for the enlargement of knowledge of Kokborok regional language with students of interest in Kokborok language. The faculty consists of two guest faculties. This cultural heritage of the State of Tripura requires a special impetus for its development. This department is fully committed to such endeavors.

The department of Kokborok has good numbers of students. The faculty of the department is fully committed to strengthen the future of the students. Prepare students for the exams. Help them to prepare for notes and in other academic activities. Department also encourages students are involved in various socio cultural activities like sports, drama, Cultural Dance and folk Music etc. Faculties are very co-operative with the students. The department to build the sufficient strength of learners of the language and to work for the enhancement of language and literature. The department is fully committed to achieve new milestones in academics and is continuously working for the betterment of the students.
The main weakness of the Kokborok department is the lack of a regular faculty. Not only R.K.Mahavidyalaya but all Government Degree colleges doesn't have regular faculties.

DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES
The Department of Kokborok is involved in number of extracurricular activities apart from the academic teaching –learning process. The Department organizes several academic activities where the students get enrichment in the language, and also get an opportunity to display and perform what they have learned in the class. The Department is known to observe and celebrate ‘Kokborok Day’ in the College with pomp show where the students of the department actively participate. Besides this, the students of the Department participate in various social outreaches, seminars, attending govt. Awareness program and organizing rally for the cultural awareness in the society.
